Yesterday I did a shoot for a WACF business breakfast. They always put on great events for their sponsors and affiliates and work hard to inspire the people around them. I have bulk respect for what these kids are doing in WA.

Rhodie

Rhodie is the new controversial addition to our family. 

and shame - she was abandoned with 9 other dogs and rescued by the Padbury vet and the RSPCA. 

She is 3 months old. Her brother is Mushi who lives with the Bushneys. 

Daschund cross Rhodesian Ridgeback. She's our sausage dog on stilts - check out those legs!

Easter Sunday

so.. it's been a while

Cass' 21st Birthday.
She has a skate board thing...

i feel like i should have something meaningful to say. you know, to sound clever or spiritual or something.
but i don't. i just wanted a grainy dark black and white picture because I saw a dark black and white movie last night.

your relationship with god may be unique, but it isn't exclusive.
so stop pretending it is.

and then i thought to myself

"wow, jess - you sound:
so deep,
so profound.
it's a pitty you're so full of crap"

Bath time!

He spent over an hour playing in the bath. I was pleading with him to come out, and he just kept saying no. He is hilarious. He gets cups and places them around the bath and keeps filling them with water, he thinks he is making tea and keeps saying "more milk?". When he gets quiet I ask him "so Ju, have you had enough? should we go play outside?" and he frantically starts filling cups saying "not yet. sit. bath!".

Ju also told me all the people he has hit in his short little life. "Hit mum, hit dad, hit dess, hit bec, hit noah, hit storm, hit gin, hit gabe, hit hannah, hit mac-daddy" mac-daddy??

Judah. Australia says no.

Well, I figured.

A new camera & the backup needs a place to live.
so did the flash. and lenses. and cards. and my cupboard isn't cutting it anymore. especially on location.

And say hi to their friend. the Manfrotto tripod. Great thing about tripods are: you can choose everything separately. so you get exactly what you want.
I saw these grip / ball heads in a photo magazine. very cool. a lot of fun. cheaper than i expected. very versatile. you can move your camera into any angle with one motion - and are also adjustable for left-handers. useless info for me, but cool for those who are..
i dont know why they still make those ones with 3 leavers you have to twist and turn and negotiate with. they suck.

the legs -- well they're legs. who cares.

Nikon D2x

Every once in a while, you make a decision which is so exciting every time you think about it - and one which you instantly regret as soon as you think twice about it.

Today I committed to buy the Nikon D2x body.
It is going for below cost, which is always a good deal.

Friday night. was a dinner of note.

After realising our restaurant was full, we wandered down to a chinese place.
15 cars outside - and no one dining. security cameras. and absolutley no one to take our order.
We decided another business was being run through the restaurant.

Italian seemed safer.

"adventurous" and "great dining experience". don't exist.

a lot of fast and unpredicatable driving had to be done to get down to Mounts Bay Rd in time for this one - the colours and light change so quickly! Couldn't believe the weather and colours this sunset produced.

Addiction

In light of Photo Friday's subject of the week. I have an addiction I will share.

I've realized I have a thing for pens. not ordinary pens. expensive and/or clever pens.

This is an ultra-thin multi-function pen. the clever thing is how you choose between either pen, pencil, pda and the orange highlighter.
