well, it is a bit of a challenge to keep $2000+ worth of electronics safe from a kid with a hose.
but it was a lot of fun.

i love watching kids make a mess. after all, if you're not making a mess, you're not making fun! can't wait for georgie to get in on the water action soon.

in other news.
our shower broke the other day... dad replaced it with a waterwise shower head. i had two showers where i literally cried afterwards - totally wrecked my morning routine...
so today i went out and bought another one. just like the old one. and $40 cheaper than the waterwise lameass crap. and installed it myself. so proud. plumbing might be a viable career for me!

1-4 - cool architecture - we rent out the performing arts room of Mindarie Senior College (the token school of the public system, in my opinion)

graduation party

last night was the advanced diploma kids graduation celebration!
1/2 price cocktails all around (what a chambull!), cigars, lots of woots, dodgy city kebabs, lots of photos (of course) - we definatly got into the spirit of environmental portraits... chocolate medallion awards for all - mine was for going through 8 locks for my locker over the year... keys are a stupid idea.

Georgie Grace Chant

Incase you didn't notice, the world became atleast one soul larger today.

My neice, Georgie Grace was born at 9.21am - 8lb 11oz, 53cm.
She is incredible, I can't wait to see the amazing things she will accomplish.

im totally dominating the domestic field lately.
2 families in 3 days.

i finally feel like im a photographer and not a just a photography student.. which is a huge difference! i might even try my hand at a wedding - but will have to spend a lot of $ hiring equipment.

and i have had the realisation for myself of "wow, you are actually quite good at this photo thing!"

there is one picture i am absolutly dying to put up on jessmccarthy.com - but i havn't got permission to use it yet.. so you'll have to wait.

my birthday. 19.08.1986

Well, I would say this has been a birthday of note! it's taken me 20 years to actually have a lot of fun with it. + happy bday songs sung into voicemail. very special. more people should sing to voicemail. it makes it so much more entertaining!
Cheers for the free dinner + wine at The Swan Brewery, for Breakfast/Lunch at Spinnakers.. Dave's going away party was full of decent conversation and was completely convienent to be held on my birthday whilst i am house sitting

man. tafe = topless male models. red wine. cigarettes. what kind of establishment are we running here!

So. this is the most involved set up we have ever had to do.
To get the swish - it involved a laser to set off the flash with about a one second delay.
Basically you need a long shutter speed. When the wine comes out of the tube and into the glass - the wine will break the lasers' beam + 1 second time delay will set of the flash to freeze the wine as it is making the curl.
There is a lot A LOT of messing around with the width of the tube vs the amound of wine vs the length of delay vs the angle of the glass - and takes about 3 people to take the shot.

1. person to fill the tube/ funnel with wine
2. person to be ready to let the wine out of the tube.
3. person to click the shutter
